About Polymer Additives Group (PAG)

Polymer Additives Group (PAG) is a U.S.-based manufacturer of flame retardants and smoke suppressants supporting compounders and formulators worldwide.

Built for Technical Performance

PAG delivers additive chemistries engineered for demanding end applications where flame performance, smoke behavior, and formulation consistency matter. With flexible wet and dry processing capabilities and technical support that works directly with customers, PAG helps reduce risk and improve production confidence.

Midwest Roots, Global Reach

Polymer Additives Group operates from its manufacturing facility in Brazil, Indiana—supporting customers across the U.S. and international markets. PAG combines reliable domestic production with global distribution to help customers maintain stable supply, consistent quality, and responsive technical support.

SO 9001:2015 Certified

Polymer Additives Group is ISO 9001:2015 certified, reflecting our commitment to consistent quality, documented processes, and continuous improvement. This certification supports the reliable manufacturing standards compounders and formulators expect when selecting additive chemistries for demanding polymer end applications.

A History of Innovation

Polymer Additives Group (PAG) has continued to expand its portfolio and strengthen its technical capabilities—supporting evolving performance demands across PVC, polyolefins, and specialty polymer systems.

1990

PAG Founded

PAG was founded in 1990 with a focus on flame retardants and smoke suppressants for plastics and coatings end applications.

2006

PAG Joins MAC

Metals and Additives Corporation (MAC) acquired PAG in 2006, supporting expanded investment in manufacturing, innovation, and additive technology development.

2008

Charmax® FS Launched

PAG introduced the Charmax FS product line in 2008 to support cost-effective smoke suppression solutions for demanding low-smoke PVC end applications.

Now

Expanding Beyond PVC

While wire & cable remains a key market, PAG continues expanding into additional polymers and end applications, including antimony trioxide replacements and evolving performance-driven systems.

Our Capabilities

PAG supports customers with in-house testing, formulation development, and additive engineering. Our capabilities are built to improve fire performance, reduce smoke, and bring reliable solutions from concept through commercialization.

Burn Testing

PAG conducts standardized flammability testing to support performance across automotive, construction, wire & cable, coatings, and aerospace applications. Capabilities include ASTM and UL methods such as ASTM D2863, ASTM E662, UL94, ASTM D4896, and ASTM D3806

Compound Development

We develop next-generation, non-halogenated flame retardant compounds for PVC, polyolefins, and other resins. Our focus is on sustainable Intumescent flame retardant (IFR) solutions that balance performance, compliance, and cost.

Additive Engineering

PAG engineers flame retardants and smoke suppressants to meet evolving performance demands. We help refine formulations, improve efficiency, and deliver solutions aligned with your application requirements.
